FIBRILLATED FIBERS DETAIL

Our synthetic fibers are made of 100% virgin polypropylene resin. The fibers are usually divided into two categories: Fibrillated or Monofilament (Multifilament). Both types are used in concrete reinforcement.

Fibrillated fibers are extruded from polypropylene resin, but are not as thin as their monofilament cousins. They are angular in shape and provide a different anchor system into the concrete. The number of individual fibers in each pound of fibrillated fibers is less than that of the monofilaments. Both types of fibers have an excellent resistance to alkali and chemical attack.

HOW THEY WORK:

The reduction or elimination of plastic micro cracks enables the concrete to better develop its optimum integrity. Millions of fibers, evenly distributed throughout the concrete serve to provide a unique support system to the freshly poured concrete. These same fibers also help reinforce the hardened concrete and increase the impact and shatter resistance.

BENEFITS

Synthetic Fibers are specifically engineered for use in concrete as secondary reinforcement, and for the purpose of controlling plastic shrinkage and settlement cracking.

Synthetic Concrete Fiber Reinforcement is used to substantially reduce the formation of plastic micro cracks, by increasing the tensile capacity of plastic concrete during the initial setting process.
